Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional who is highly resourceful and organized to serve as our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer. The duration of the project is approximately 2 years.

Compensation

$30 to $45 hourly rate based on experience and education.

Overtime at 50% over 40h a week

Main responsibilities:

Introducing newcomers to the HSE conditions of the site (site induction).

Conduct HSE inspections and prepare reports pointing out both positive and negative findings.

Carry out investigations with the Head of HSE into all accidents and near-miss incidents and record the findings on relevant forms.

Coordinating, managing, inspecting, and controlling the HSE Conditions during the Progress of the work.

Monitor and verify substances used on-site. Make binders with MSDS’ placed inside the Paint/COSHH container and keep the binder available in the site office. Review relevant COSHH Assessment & MSDS.

Conduct/Review relevant Risk Assessments & Method statements with the site management crew before the project start according to the contract.

Ensure Crew reads, understands, and signs Risk assessment & Method statement before commencing works at the site.

Implement proper HSE procedures on the site and ensure these are followed.

Responsible for the maintenance and management of the site safety program, including tracking of Near Misses, Safety Observations, injuries, and management of the employee safety incentive program.

Assesses the safety risk of activities and recommends action to be taken to reduce risk and maintain compliance.

Conducts RCA to address safety issues, compliance matters, quality and environmental rules and regulations.

Selects and maintains proper safety equipment and inventory.

Conduct PPE inspections.

 

Qualification and preferred skills and experience

OSHA 500 certification (mandatory)

Experience in overseeing and conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with established requirements and procedures.

Acquainted with emergency management and employee injury management.

Experience working with Multi-National companies that have extensive operations in different States and Regions

Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
