ROLE AND LOCATION
We are looking for a Director Accounting to join our team in Porto. This is a full-time position based in our Porto office.
As Director Accounting, you will be part of the Finance leadership team reporting directly to the CFO for Wind Group. You will lead the global accounting function covering Group Accounting, Local Accounting, Consolidation, Compliance, Audit support, and financial controlling for the Wind Group in Muehlhan.
The role has global responsibility across both the legacy Muehlhan Wind Service entities and acquired M&A companies. You will ensure high-quality financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, local GAAP requirements, and tax/legal obligations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
MAIN TASKS/OCCASIONAL TASKS

Develop and coordinate the global accounting organization for Muehlhan Wind Service across regions and entities

Manage and support direct reports including EMEA Accounting Leads and Accounting specialists

Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual closings following deadlines set by Muehlhan Group

Drive continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and controls

In close cooperation with Muehlhan Group Accounting and Controlling as well as Controlling function in Wind Group ensure to maintain and further develop the global Chart of Accounts and financial master data setup for the Wind Group

Ensure correct application of IFRS and local GAAP including coordination with external auditors

Coordinate year-end audit process and ensure high-quality audit deliverables

Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and statutory filing requirements in collaboration with the Tax team

Support M&A integration activities including harmonization of accounting processes, systems, and controls

Collaborate with Controlling and Data & BI to ensure consistency and transparency in the financial reporting landscape

Support ERP implementations and finance system improvements

Ad hoc analyses and projects as agreed with the CFO
LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT

Develop, motivate, and retain employees within the Accounting function

Provide guidance, training, and support to regional accounting teams and external partners

Document accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows for training and compliance purposes

REQUIRED SKILLS
-
Hold a relevant academic degree (e.g MSc in Accounting/Finance, or similar)

10+ years of experience from accounting and/or audit in an international, project-based, or service-oriented business

Strong experience with IFRS, consolidation, and external audit processes

Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams

Strong communication skills with ability to interact with auditors, management, and operational stakeholders

Structured, proactive, and able to navigate complexity in a fast-growing international environment

Strong IT/system understanding, including ERP systems (e.g., Business Central) and reporting tools

Fluent in English (spoken and written)
