Onshore Wind Technicians – Commissioner Trainee
We are hiring wind technicians to attend GE commissioner training in Albany, New York. Due to the robust nature of this training applicants must have prior electrical experience to be considered for this role. Hired candidates must be able to successfully complete required training for continued authorization to work on the project's scope of work. Upon completion of the training, you will join our onshore team delivering high quality, safety-driven services on GE projects.

- You envision a long-term career path in Wind. After becoming a Commissioning Tech I, you can progress up to Comm II and Comm III.
- You are available to start at the end of May or first week in June.
Job Details
- Safety 1st focus! Follow all assigned Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.
- Successfully complete customer guided training curriculum and demonstrate learned knowledge.
- Verify that work is completed in compliance with customer’s requirements.
- Document all work performed using customer supplied forms.
- Read, understand, and utilize written instructions. I.e., installation manual, TWP, WDI, PCAT, FCAT, CCT and others.
- Perform installation, material handling, inventory, inspection, commissioning, or maintenance of completed turbines.
- Document deficiencies found during inspections.
- Repair defects.
- Report policy or procedure violation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
- Submit progress reports.
- Demonstrate experience and proficiency in required computer and mobile applications.
- Liaise with internal and external customers.
- Safely utilize hand & power tools, and electrical measuring equipment.
Requirements for employment
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel within the United States.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in an indoor or outdoor environment in inclement weather conditions and within confined spaces at heights above 100 feet.
- Visual acuity includes depth perception, field of view and ability to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to climb turbine towers, often with tools and equipment.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment, parts, and tools, some of which weigh 50 pounds or more.
